Comments from TLG Rotor Owners
I will add comments as I get them.

I had to drop you a note and tell you that the 2nd set of blades we received from you performed even better then the first set.
Also thank you for making us an even bigger set for our other turbine model.
Your 3 and 4 blade sets work better then any other blade we have found  for our 12 and 24 Volt PM Turbine with start-up speeds around 4 MPH and the larger blades were perfect for the larger Model which had wooden blades before with a start-up speed of 5.5 MPH and your blades have lowered that speed to 3.5 - 4 MPH !
I must say that the weight of the blade has also helped with the balance of turbines which will add to the life of the bearings. One other aspect of your blades we noticed is what I would call for lack of a better term is there " Whirl Effect " in other words they seem to speed themselves up as the air moves behind the blade it seems to turn and add to the push the blade is getting on the front side. It's crazy but they just start spinning faster at the same wind speed. I can't wait to see how the smoke moves through them in the tunnel.
Thank You again for such a fine product.
Best Regards

I am surprised as well as impressed. To be honest with you when I first got the blades bolted up I was wondering if I had made the right choice in buying them.  I could not see how something so light was going to make my generator turn.  I finally got my arbor shaft in and put it all together.  I picked the generator up and started walking towards my garage door and they started turning.  I had to wait for a calm day to climb the tower but still ended up having to tie the blades down.  That was a bit tough with the shaft extension.  When I tightened the last bolt and removed the rope they took off.  I climbed down and stood there for quite awhile in amazement.  I would guess the wind up there was about 5 mile per hour.  I can hardly wait until I get a 15 to 20 they're going to go faster than a cat on a hot tin roof.

I bought the 3 blade aluminum prop just to see what it would do on my Southwest AIR 403.  It works way better than the original blades and its even quieter. I have charge lights showing on my charge controller in a lot less wind than it use to take.  I could not put my nose cone back on but it still looks gorgeous up there with those chrome looking blades.
D.

Terry I got your blades they are super on the Ametek 99 motor, I have
lots of power with this setup. Most rate there genny at a 28 + mph
wind that most people never get. Here is what I got at 18 mph with your blades.
Last night we had 18, gust to 23 mph wind, peak 20-22 ish amps and steady 15-17 amps, so that’s 240-264 watts peak, or 180 ish watts steady in that wind.
With your blades and a Ametek 99 motor and a few spare parts that’s not bad, and its HONEST numbers in real wind.  This setup will work for anybody and not just when it storms.  Just think of what you would have if you put up 4 to 5 of these units. hmmm
Dave
A little update, this morning 1/28/04 we had 12mph wind, 30 open volts at 650 rpm. Getting 7-10 amps. AWSOME !!! Show me any unit that will do that!
Take a look at his generator.
You were right your 3 blade rotor turned my AIR 403 into a powerhouse in less wind.
You have some fine products!  The blades are beautiful to look at and fast as hell!
Rather than typing a book on how impressed I am let me sum up your blades in one word, INCREDIBLE!
The first thing I have to do is thank Terry for all of his help.  When it comes to wind power he is a wealth of knowledge.  I can easily see Terry and his products becoming the future of homegrown wind energy.  He also stands behind all of his products and that really makes me feel great any time I make a purchase from him.
See his generator and read more of his comments.
Your Quadraflex AL is a work of art.  I went from a 6 blade system to your 4 blade and found that more blades does not mean more power.
Ken
I just wanted to say how pleased I am with the 3-bladed wind prop I bought from you on Ebay. It's mounted on my sailboat's wind generator and now kicks out loads of power for me. It starts turning at even lower wind velocities than you had advertised. It's a lot quieter and better balanced than my old wooden prop, and spins at even higher rpms. Kudos to you for making an excellent product!
Jeremy Bernal  See his generator on his boat. COOL!
Terry, I just wanted to let you know the blades are up and running and I am very happy with the blades and the support that you back them up with!
I bought a set of your blades that you are now calling the tri-nado just because they looked better than the pointed black ones I had.  I finally got a chance to mount them up and they not only look better they get with it.  Thanks to your blades I am now getting twice the amount of charge in less than half the wind that my old blades needed.  You have some great blades.  I wish I had your new laser cut hub.
Pat
I got my generator up today, saw it spin up to 22 volts with the Ametek 30.
I am Still going to fine tune with some bushing and washers on the mast. LOVE IT, great product.

Terry. Thank you so much for working with me on the replacement blades.  I learned there is a reason for instruction.  I was expecting to pay full price for them since it was my fault for not putting them together right.  Cost plus shipping was an unexpected surprise.  By the way I got the new set up and spinning, they are amazing I can not get over how fast they run.
You can add this email to your web site but I would rather you not put my name. Please save me the worldwide embarrassment for not reading the instructions.
You and your blades are the greatest!

Polyvinyl blades.
Your blades work great! They start up in just a few knots of wind and we've had up to 55mph winds since I put it up.

"I got Terry's 4 blade set and his yaw mount.
I didn't have high hopes when I got it cause I live in zone 1, the lowest wind  region of all. I just wanted something to tinker with and figured it would help top off the battery occasionally when we had storms and high winds.
But I've been getting charge every day since I got it !
Near as I can figure by nearby airport data, that it starts getting 1-2 amp charges somewhere around 9-11 miles a hour with my Ametek 30, and I haven't even got it up yet on my higher 20 foot pole.
These homebrewed windgens are fun to build and play with cause there very simple and straight forward every single piece you can get to see what's there and all.  Building mine was absolutely never a headache like some projects can turn into,  it was relaxing all the way. And Windgens are so much funner to watch than solar panels.
If you don't love the wind already, then you sure will after you put up your first Windgen especially if you build it yourself.
Terry answered endless questions for me on the phone as well and Terry's Website has the most info I've found in any one place on Ametek oriented windgens, and you should read every single thing on this site if you want to learn more about them.
I'm looking even more forward to building my next one than I was for this 1st one."
Thanks again

I just want to say thank you for the support you gave me throughout my project.  I had done several months of research and I still didn't know much  about wind generators until I found you.  Thanks to your personal support and superb blades I am the proud owner of one beautiful generator.  I can not say enough about you and the support the you back your products up with.
To anyone that wants to build a wind generator your best bet at success is with Terry.  He is friendly and takes the time to make sure that you get your generator up and running.
Thank you so much, Gregg
Mini Might Series
It took me about five minutes to assemble the rotor and mount it up to the generator head.
I noticed a sturdy straightforward design with inherent washout in the tapered blade curve.  Few people realize washout is absolutely necessary to prevent overstressing the blades under high-speed loads.  I like simplicity, it means dependability.  The turbine should easily outlast the generator.
You could say I'm impressed.
Thanks,
R.J.Crowley
Thank you for your awesome website.  Between your site and the direct support you gave me my project was a breeze and speaking of breeze your Quadraflex mini might blade set spins very fast in just a little breeze.  I will be building your secret weapon generator you talk about as soon as I get some more cash.  I can not wait to see what that one will do.
You are the man with the plan.
You say your quadraflex mm is VIRTUALLY SILENT.  Dude it is quiet as in totally silent!  It surprised me how much better it works than the fiber blades that came with my air 403.
With the quality of your blades and the support from you and your website how could anyone go wrong.
Thank you so much for everything
I bought your quad AL blades several months ago, they have seen winds well over 90 mph here in Florida although they were making a woom sound in the high winds they still survived and my generator too.  I got the power disc mm up last month and they too have seen winds of close to 100 along with rain in there first month.  You need to change your wording on the site.  I agree with the other person they are not virtually silent they are in fact (silent).  I have never heard even a slight sound out of them.
You outdid yourself Terry.
Tim
Thank you for all the work you have put into your website. It is easy to get around in it from one point to another.  It is like you know what our next question in going to be on some pages and you put a link to take us where we need to go next.
It is obvious to anyone that goes to your site or calls you on the phone that you are not just in this for yourself but you actually care about us (your customers) who are out here trying to get started.
I will send pictures when I get it all put together.
You are the best Terry.
I just purchased the Prairie Star AL
I paid for it using PayPal on Thursday I about fell over in shock when it arrived on Saturday. This is amazing service.
I must admit when I opened the package it didn't look like much my first thought was I should have went with a bigger model, but the wind was low so I got it all together and put it up early in the morning.
( It's about the only time you can be sure the wind won't blow it over getting it up )
The wind started kicking in shortly afterwards about 8mph and I was producing any where between 2 to 5 amps 12V consistently.
This is and excellent product and I will look you up when I build my next generator.
By the way in case you care this is a home made axial brake rotor 3 phase design I built myself, it has 16 magnets on each rotor with 12 coils 120 windings per coil of 14ga magnet wire. When it starts charging it really drags hard I think but this is the only alternator for wind I've ever seen up close so what do I know......

Thanks for your product Terry and I hope you keep expanding your product line.

Very Happy Customer
Matt Swearingen                             See his home built system.
I have now installed your machine and send a couple of pictures taken at my country home in Northumberland (North East England). I have added a plastic cowling to prevent moisture getting inside the machine and also dripping down the pole.
It was a weekend of strong west winds so I cannot tell what is the lowest speed at which the machine starts to turn or to charge. However, at 7 meters / sec it was spinning merrily and charging well.
During the night there was a very high wind with gusts probably over 60 mph. The tail held the machine rock steady with no vibration whatsoever, there was no electrical hum and the propeller emitted only a faint whisper.
I suspect that the blades are, to some extent, self governing because, over a certain speed, increased wind speed did not seem to make much difference to the output which steadied at 20 volts and just over 5 amps.

Hope you sell a whole lot and make some money. I bet if you tot up all the time that you have spent developing the machine you will find that your valuable time mounts up to quite a sum.
Best wishes

Hi ; Terry
This is my third time looking at your web site I would like to say great job, you don't beat around the bush , facts and straight forward on your products not afraid to show what you have, and the way they are made, pictures and helpful site information for someone to get started in wind power energy was just excellent. I will contact your Canadian dealer in the near future. Once again Hats off to you SIR ! Great Job!
I'm glad I tried your blades I now know what it takes to make some decent power with wind.  See Brian's Hornet converted to the Boast Buster rotor.
Anybody with a Hornet needs to upgrade to the Boast Buster now.  You told me I should see at least a 40% increase on my Hornet I got more like 300%.
We have found your blades to perform with more torque and better speed than anything else that we have tested.

Even though I've only had the Boast Buster blades for a short time I have already seen them start up in a light breeze and perform well.
See Jim's Hornet running the Boast Buster.
Got the blade today, and she's flying. The Mallard 800 and Boast Buster (4.5) are a PERFECT MATCH.......IT WON'T STOP SPINNING .......MY SON PAINTED THE BLADES AND WANTED TO SEND YOU THE PICS, BUT IT STILL HASN'T STOPPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will send you my story and pics soon.. THANKS for everything.

You named it right, MINI MIGHT ! The test I made was 3 foot off my roof. The worst spot I could find . On the tree side I get 10 vdc. On the open side I get 30-50 vdc most of the last 2 days. My grandson said your Quadraflex MM, ROCKS !
Many Thanks, Larry in Augusta, KS
Thanks for the honest information about my possibilities of wind power here.  Although I didn't want to hear that wind was unfeasible for me in my low wind area, I certainly appreciate your honest scoop, and your great alternatives for saving some cash and still building my self sufficiency.
It was a real pleasure talking with you and if you ever need my help don't hesitate to call.
Thanks again

My name is Joe Armstrong and I recently opened a business installing wind generators in central New York.  I have a particular generator with a shaft that is extremely difficult to turn the by hand.  Terry assured me that his Power Star Elite would turn that "monster" of mine.   Not only did it turn it, but also got my generator to churn out a whopping 52 amps @ 14.4 volts into a 12 volt battery bank in a 30 mph wind.
I looked around quite sometime for airfoils that would perform as advertised. I purchased blades from other vendors only to be disappointed with their performance and craftsmanship.
I have to admit that Terry's blades are the best.  From my experience working in stamping facilities and with precision metal working, Terry's air foils are of the highest quality.  Plus you can call him and speak with him about any issues or concerns.
Try that with some of these other vendors that only use email for communication!
Hi Terry.  We received our (two) TLG-500's and WOW!
There is no doubt about the quality and durability in your product.  You have put together the total package here.  From the generator to the yaw bracket/mount to the blades. It all has quality and pride written all over it.
If anyone wants to ask us about our TLG-500, don't hesitate to give them our number.
Thanks for a great product, not to mention the personal service and support.  See Auto Climate Systems unit.

Terry:
Very pleased with the TLG-500 unit yesterday, just wish I’d had a little more wind, or a more open area for this test run. Next time I’ll take it out to the EX’s house  a few miles west of Fort Worth. She’s on a slight hilltop and it can be fairly windy there at times….more open area with no bldgs around to chop up the wind either. Anything more than the 4’ tall pole I used yesterday will help as well.
When I spun it by hand it would show 7 – 8 volts….but at one point the wind did spin it up to 13 volts and it wasn’t turning that fast…it was not very windy around the garage, with some short bursts of slight wind…and I realize you have to have this thing mounted up on a pole about 20 – 30’ above ground level to get clean, pure and steady wind. It takes 14.1 volts to fully charge a 12 volt battery bank and this unit will have no problem with that in a decent wind environment.  See some pictures of his testing that day.

TLG-500 unit.
I have been keeping track of the output amps for about a month now. Long term averages should be close to this. I have a stationary and handheld anemometer.  there is also a 24 hour internet accessible real time wind speed indicator located 2 miles from here which is always on my desktop screen.
   So far the average output readings for each generator in unobstructed wind are as follows;
1 amp at 5 mph, 2 amps at 7 mph, 3 amps at 9 mph, 4 amps at 11 mph, 5 amps at 12 mph, 6 amps at 13 mph,  7.5 amps at 15 mph, 8 amps at 16 mph,
Most of the winds in our area are in the 2 to 16 mph range. One evening we had sustained winds of 25 to 35 mph for about 4 hours and the generators were putting out 18 to 25 amps each.
With six units that's 108 to 150 amps of power into a 12 volt battery bank.

Dear TLG Windpower,
I am the owner and operator of Electricalair llc. Recently we purchased a Wind-generator (your model TLG-500) for testing.
We installed the unit on a large 120 acre pig farm. On a day of decent wind we went back out to observe the unit.  I hooked up an in-line amp meter, then told my assistant to go get the other meter.  I was sure the meter had gone bad, to my surprise the other amp meter also showed 13 to 15 amps going into the 24-volt battery bank.
Over the years Electricalair llc has installed various brands of wind generators and solar systems around the greater Salt Lake area and to date we have never seen a small units produce as much power as the TLG-500 in such low winds.
I will defiantly be using your wind-generators to meet my customers needs.
Thank you,
